
Born in Los Alamos, NM, Chris Porter was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Married to Jeanette, who assists in the business, he has two grown children and resides in Clinton.
Chris has been serving the greater southern Connecticut and shoreline communities for over thirty two years. He became a partner in the renowned firm of Killam and Sperry some 22 years ago to carry on their 55 years of excellence. His former partners have since retired and Chris changed the name of his firm to Porter Financial Strategies to better reflect the broad range of services which he provides.
Chris is a Licensed Agent, a Registered Investment Advisor Affiliate, a Registered Representative in Securities, state-certified and licensed for Long Term Care Coverage, and is licensed in several states to deal in Life, Health and Disability Insurance, Annuities and all forms of Investment Products. He has represented the Connecticut Society of CPA’s for their disability income planning and to design individual income replacement programs. Chris is an active member of the Wallingford Rotary Club, chairing several committees for that non-profit service organization and also a member of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on the Board of Governors for the Mid-State Medical Center.
While certain investment principles are universally applicable, Chris recognizes that each investor or investing family has unique goals and outlooks. He hopes, through personal meetings with clients, to acquaint them with the various financial and investments vehicles available. Before settling on a career in the financial services industry, Chris’ business background was quite varied. He was a commercial fisherman in Alaska, started an upscale courier firm in Manhattan, and purchased, remodeled, and built residential and commercial real estate.
